She's barely in her mid-twenties and already Emmanuelle Caplette is a veteran of stage, screen, and recording studios—and two spots on the Montréal Drum Fest roster. Since her first appearance in 2003, when she proudly displayed her drum corps prowess, Emmanuelle has steadfastly pursued her craft, seizing a multitude of gigging opportunities. She's appeared live with percussion ensembles, recorded diverse projects in the studio, and has participated in a television series from the ground up. That's not all.

Emmanuelle honed her precision and augmented her stamina when touring with the show Cavalia. Here she fed the pulse to humans and horses, yes horses, learning how to rein in stubborn tendencies. It brings to mind the seasoned three-ring circus drummers of old, who marked time by crashing at the exact moment a lion leaped through a flaming hoop.

As indicated in her recent cover for Drums Etc magazine, Emmanuelle's drumset style reflects more contemporary influences including Steve Smith, Cindy Blackman, Steve Gadd, Carter Beauford, Kim Thompson, and Jo Jo Mayer. This short list ought to provide you with an inkling of what you can expect when Emmanuelle Caplette performs with her band at the Drum Fest. She's home grown and she's proud and she's going to perform on par with the great drummers of our day.
